Aluminum fencing

Aluminum Fences in Jacksonville, FL

Ornamental aluminum encloses the yard without taking the view. It is the fence people usually mean when they ask for an iron look: the same black vertical-picket profile, in a metal that does not rust in coastal air. What it does not give you is privacy.

Is this the right fit

Best for

  • Pond, lake, preserve and golf-course lots where the view is the point
  • Pool enclosures that need a barrier with self-closing, self-latching gate hardware
  • HOA communities that specify a black ornamental look along visible boundaries
  • Containing pets and children without walling the yard in

Honest trade-offs

  • No privacy and no wind screening, by design
  • Higher material cost than chain-link for the same enclosure
  • Picket spacing is what makes a fence pool-appropriate, so a decorative run is not automatically a pool barrier
  • It is aluminum, not steel or true wrought iron. Lighter in hand, and it will not rust like bare steel

Aluminum options we install

Ornamental picket panels

The classic black vertical-picket profile, in the heights your community allows.

Pool-code barrier configuration

Barrier fencing with self-closing, self-latching gate hardware, built to the barrier requirements that apply to your property.

View-preserving runs

Set along the pond, preserve or course side of a lot so the boundary reads as open rather than closed.

Aluminum gates

Walk gates and double drive gates matched to the panel profile.

Mixed-material layouts

Aluminum on the view side, wood or vinyl privacy on the neighbor sides, scoped together during the estimate.

Plain language

What homeowners mean by iron

Terminology gets mixed up on this material more than any other, so here is how we translate it at the estimate.

"Iron fence" or "wrought-iron look"
Almost always describes the black vertical-picket profile rather than the metal. In Jacksonville, most fences fitting that description are ornamental aluminum.
"Metal fence"
Used loosely for aluminum, steel and chain-link alike. Worth pinning down early, because the three behave nothing like each other.
"Pool fence"
A barrier configuration, not a separate material. Height, picket spacing and self-closing, self-latching gate hardware are what make it one.
"Rackable panel"
A panel that pivots to follow a slope instead of stepping down it, which is how an aluminum run stays visually level on graded lots.

What we install on this page is ornamental aluminum. Heavier ornamental metal is scoped case by case during the on-site estimate rather than sold from a web page.

Jacksonville conditions

Aluminum on Jacksonville lots

Salt air at the beaches

Bare steel does not enjoy life near the ocean. Aluminum is the practical answer when you want the ornamental look at Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach or Ponte Vedra.

Pond and preserve view restrictions

Many Jacksonville associations require an open-view fence along water or preserve boundaries. Aluminum is usually the material that satisfies that rule.

Pool barriers

Pool enclosure requirements govern picket spacing, height and gate hardware. We build to the requirements that apply to your property rather than to a generic spec.

Wind

An open picket fence passes wind instead of catching it, which is a real advantage on exposed lots during storm season.

Scope

How we install aluminum

Aluminum shows every deviation in a line, so layout and post setting carry the job.

  1. 01Line laid out with attention to sightlines, since a rackable panel run reads straight or it does not
  2. 02Posts set for sandy soil, spaced to the panel system
  3. 03Panels racked to follow grade on sloped runs
  4. 04Gates hung, and pool gate hardware set to self-close and self-latch where the run is a barrier
  5. 05New installation and complete replacement only, no repair-only aluminum work

Installation and replacement only

We install new fences and complete fence replacements only. We do not take on repair-only jobs such as replacing a few pickets, resetting a single post or patching an existing fence.

Cost drivers

What moves the price on an aluminum fence

Grade of the panel system and gate count drive aluminum more than footage alone.

  • Linear footage and panel height
  • Panel grade and picket spacing, including pool-barrier configurations
  • Gate count and width, and self-closing pool hardware where required
  • Grade changes needing racked panels
  • Access and terrain along the run
  • Tear-out and haul-away of an existing fence
