Complete fence replacement

Fence Replacement in Jacksonville, FL

A replacement is a full tear-out and rebuild: the old fence comes down end to end, the debris leaves with us, and a new fence goes up with new posts, panels and hardware. It is not a patch job. We do not take on repair-only work such as swapping a few pickets or resetting one post.

Is this the right fit

Best for

  • Fences leaning or bowing because the posts have gone at ground level
  • Storm damage across enough of the run that patching stops making sense
  • Rot, insect damage or fasteners pulling loose over multiple sections
  • Homeowners who want the whole line to match instead of a visible repair patch

Honest trade-offs

  • Replacement costs more than a repair would, and we will tell you plainly when a fence still has life left
  • The yard is open between tear-out and install, so pets and pool access need a plan for that window
  • Reusing the existing line is usually cheapest, but if the old line was wrong we would rather move it than rebuild a mistake
  • Repair-only requests are outside our scope, so if that is what you need we are not the right fit

What full replacement includes

Tear-out

The existing fence, posts and footings come out along the whole run, not just the visibly failed sections.

Haul-away and disposal

Removal and disposal of the old fence is part of the replacement job, not an add-on you have to arrange separately.

Line review

Before rebuilding we check whether the old line still makes sense, or whether grade, drainage or gate access argue for adjusting it.

New posts and hardware

New posts, panels, rails and gate hardware throughout. Nothing structural from the old fence gets reused.

Material change

A replacement is the natural moment to switch materials, most often wood to vinyl or to aluminum on a pond lot.

Scope boundary

Replacement is not repair

We install new fences and complete fence replacements only. We do not take on repair-only jobs such as replacing a few pickets, resetting a single post or patching an existing fence.

Complete replacement, which is what we do

  • The entire fence comes down, posts and footings included
  • Removal, haul-away and disposal of the old fence
  • New posts, panels, rails and gate hardware throughout
  • The option to change material or adjust the line while the yard is open

Repair-only work, which we do not take on

  • Replacing a handful of pickets or boards
  • Resetting or sistering a single leaning post
  • Patching one damaged section of an otherwise standing fence
  • Rehanging or re-squaring a gate on an existing fence

Removal and haul-away are included in a complete replacement. They are not sold as a standalone service. See everything a Jacksonville fence contractor takes on across new builds and replacements.

Jacksonville conditions

Why Jacksonville fences fail

Rot at the ground line

Humidity plus sprinkler spray keeps the bottom of a wood post damp year round. That is where most failures start, long before the panels look bad.

Storm season loading

A solid privacy fence acts like a sail. Repeated wind events loosen posts in sandy soil and the lean shows up gradually across a whole run.

Salt air at the beaches

Closer to the ocean, hardware and fasteners give up before the boards do. A fence held together by rusted fasteners is a replacement candidate even when the wood looks fine.

Shifting sand and settlement

Posts that were set shallow in sand work loose over time. Resetting one does not fix the run, which is why we quote replacements rather than partial resets.

Scope

Replacement scope and boundaries

The scope boundary is simple: we replace fences end to end. We do not sell partial repairs.

  1. 01Assessment of the existing fence, posts and line, with an honest read on whether replacement is warranted
  2. 02Written quote covering tear-out, haul-away, new material and gates
  3. 03HOA submission and permitting handled by us where they apply
  4. 04Tear-out and disposal, then new posts, panels and gates, cleanup and walkthrough
  5. 05We install new fences and complete fence replacements only. We do not take on repair-only jobs such as replacing a few pickets, resetting a single post or patching an existing fence.

Cost drivers

What moves the price on a replacement

Replacement pricing has one extra variable a new install does not: getting the old fence out. These are the factors we price against.

  • Linear footage coming out and going back up
  • How the old posts were set and how hard the footings are to extract
  • Volume of debris to haul away and dispose of
  • Whether you keep the same material and height or change them
  • Gate count, gate width and new hardware
  • Access for a truck and trailer, and any landscaping to protect during tear-out
