The condition of the old fence and the homeowner's concerns
The existing wood fence had reached the end of its service life. It was rotted in places, leaning along parts of the line, and broken open in others. A fence in that condition stops enclosing anything, which was the homeowner's concern: with openings in the run, they were watching the yard rather than using it, and worrying about their children or the family dog finding a way through. The objective was to restore a sound backyard enclosure across a perimeter of approximately 450 linear feet.
Removal and replacement
The deteriorated fence was removed first, including the failed sections and the old posts, and hauled away. The crew then built the replacement across roughly 450 linear feet of new wood fencing, framing and hanging the multiple gates the property needed for access around the yard. The work took three days on site from removal through the completed replacement run.
The completed result
The finished line closed the gaps the old fence had opened up and gave the property a continuous, upright enclosure again. The homeowners reported greater peace of mind when their family and dog were using the back yard.
